About Us
Established in 2002 — strengthening health information systems across Burma/Myanmar's ethnic and border communities.
Who We Are
The Health Information System Working Group (HISWG) is a network of ethnic health organizations working to strengthen health information systems in conflict-affected areas of Burma/Myanmar. Established in 2002, HISWG has been a critical bridge between local health providers and the data infrastructure needed to deliver effective, equitable care.
Our work focuses on eastern and western Burma/Myanmar, particularly in conflict-affected and under-resourced regions where reliable health data is most urgently needed.
What We Do
- Strengthening data collection, analysis, and reporting systems
- Supporting digital health information platform development
- Building capacity among health information staff
- Facilitating coordination and data sharing among ethnic health organizations and partners
Our Geographic Focus
HISWG operates primarily in eastern and western border areas of Burma/Myanmar, supporting ethnic health organizations that serve populations in conflict-affected regions with limited access to government health services.
